Great Partnership

​Are you looking to boost your events or need a home to host your monthly business meetings?  Well, Eta Pi in Fishers Indiana may have a partner that could work well for you. 
 
Eta Pi has entered into a relationship that we believe will lead to bigger fundraisers in the future. Six years ago, Eta Pi Fishers partnered up with a local bar to do a golf outing benefitting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  By the end of 2017, that bar ended up closing their doors.  We needed a new partner and thought we would team up with another bar in the area that had shown interest. 
 
In the meantime, the American Legion Fishers Post 470 approached us, inquiring about partnering up on the golf outing.  The American Legion had supported our outing the last 5 years, donating hole sponsorships and foursomes to play in our outing.  They knew that we worked hard and put on a fun and successful outing. They had always wanted to do an outing, but they really had no idea how to pull it off.  They thought it would be a good opportunity.
 
When we met with the Legion members, we learned about their on going fundraising efforts and their drive to get new members.  Sound familiar?   They raise money from raffles and bingo nights and have money to donate to charity.  
 
Eta Pi shared ESA’s background and how we wanted to grow too.  We mentioned that as of recent, we have had issues securing a place to host our monthly meeting.   They offered one of their rooms to use every month for free and took us in with open arms.   In fact, they recently refurbished our meeting room with a new floor and fresh paint.  They have made us feel welcome!
 
While there were some learning curves this year, our outing was another success!  We raised more than $15,000 for St. Jude, our highest amount yet. The American Legion donated the box lunches for the golfers at the beginning of the scramble and then hosted the after party at their facility.   They helped bring in many hole sponsorships and helped secure several foursomes.   
 
In November, they helped us collect donations for our  “Hope for Heroes Winter Warm Up for Homeless Veterans”.   They collected almost $800 in donations.  
 
The American Legion Post 470 and Eta Pi Fishers Charity Golf Outing Benefitting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is already set for September 20, 2018 in Fishers.   We know that our relationship will continue to grow with the good people of the American Legion.  We have more ideas for future fundraisers, including a motorcycle poker run.    If you are looking for some support for your event or chapter, think about teaming up with your local American Legion Post.  You may be pleasantly surprised of how that relationship could work for you.
