It's starting to cool down here in Indiana, which means that summer is coming to a close. Eta Pi has had a very jam-packed and successful summer, though! We spent a lot of time out in the community volunteering, as well as having several great socials! Some of our favorite philanthropic events this summer included 24 Hours of Booty, Indianapolis Walk for Wishes, Easter Seals' Glo Run, and preparing for our golf outing benefiting St Jude Children's Research Hospital. 24 Hours of Booty is a unique event that raises funds for cancer-fighting programs. It is a cycling event held on a traffic-free loop an includes Bootyville, a "city within a city" for the cyclists to eat, sleep, and enjoy different event entertainment. Indianapolis' event takes place at Butler University. The Indianapolis 24 Hours of Booty event raised almost $200,000! Eta Pi members Ashley and Monica helped out this year, and Ashley loves that it's a unique event to raise funds for cancer-fighting programs. Courtney liked seeing all the different families that the local chapter of Make a Wish has helped. So many Wish Kids and Wish Families were there, and it was a great experience to see the people that have benefited from a great organization. We had an hour-long yoga session, followed by wine tasting and socializing. It was a lot of fun, and we got to try out some great wines! Kelly, Courtney, Jeana, Amy, and Wendy enjoy Yoga and Wine at Harmony Winery The Indianapolis Glo Run is a unique 5k that takes place at night, and features music, neon lights, black light, and, of course, lots of glowing neon paint. We had several members volunteer on behalf of Easter Seals Crossroads, and one of our tweets from Ashley was even featured on the local news! Eta Pi Members volunteering at the Indy Glo Run! Finally, we're preparing for our third annual golf outing with Claude and Annie's restaurant to benefit St Jude! Led by Kelly, we've been securing sponsorships, publicizing, and registering golfers! Our golf outing takes place on September 24 at River Glen Country Club in Fishers, and will start at 11 am. Entry fees include golf with a cart, lunch, beverages, and an awards dinner at Claude and Annie's following the outing. We are so thankful for our great sponsors this year, and if you're interested in playing in the outing, you can visit the official website. We're looking forward to a great outing! Kelly and Sue preparing for the golf outing! This summer was a lot of fun, and we're looking forward to the rest of the ESA year and keeping up with our theme of Paying it Forward!
